Jose Mourinho will rest David De Gea against Crystal Palace and play himself in goal.
The 54-year-old is so confident about Palace’s lack of attacking edge that he’s giving himself a run out instead of De Gea, Sergio Romero or Joel Pereira.
Palace are yet to score this season and are even considering signing Carlton Cole in an effort to
confirm relegation find the back of the net.
United have only conceded two goals this season, with De Gea keeping five clean sheets in six games.
Unofficial source Lee Satchell said: “As soon as Mourinho saw it was Palace up next he told De Gea to take the week off.
“Mourinho’s knees have gone and his back is a bit stiff but he’s still confident about keeping a clean sheet.
“Christian Benteke is injured. No one has seen Connor Wickham in 2017. I’d be surprised if Roy Hodgson plays anyone up front.
“He was going to play in defence but he’s worried that Phil Jones will make him look bad or that Eric Bailly would take him out by accident.
“Whatever happens Mourinho is going to sub himself off in the 89th minute to get a standing ovation.
“He’s also told Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku that he’s on set pieces.”
