Conor McGregor in talks to sign for Spurs after ‘putting the pressure on’ Floyd Mayweather

The MMA star went toe-to-toe with the boxing legend but came up short, showing all the characteristics needed to be a Spurs player

Conor McGregor has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur after he admirably ‘put the pressure on’ Floyd Mayweather on Saturday night.

In the Las Vegas mega-fight, McGregor showed spirit and positivity in the early stages, before going toe-to-toe with Mayweather in the middle section.

However, after coming up just short at the end, he showed he had all the qualities needed to play for perennial two-horse race losers Spurs.

Club insider Lee Satchell said the unexpected fight McGregor put up, combined with not quite getting over the line, made him the perfect fit for Spurs.

He added: “No-one was expecting him to do much beforehand, but after a strong opening fans started to believe he could do it.

“Obviously, everyone knew he would probably come second after putting up a decent battle.

“He’s exactly the sort of player Spurs could do with if they are to mount their second-place challenge again.”

⚽Liverpool v Arsenal betting tip: Liverpool to win, 11/10⚽

LIVERPOOL always save their best for the top six.

In a mini league with Spurs, Arsenal, Man United, Man City and Chelsea, Liverpool picked up the most points last term – double that of Arsenal. This game will suit Jurgen Klopp and 11/10 for a home win is far too good to resist.
