Any club wanting to buy James Milner will now have to pay £1billion, after Liverpool raised his release clause.
In light of Neymar’s £198mil move to PSG the decision was taken to raise Milner’s release clause and safeguard Liverpool’s prized asset.
There are still some fears that PSG will come in with a bid, given they’re treating the transfer market like a game of Monopoly, but for now Liverpool are feeling calmer.
An ITK source, Lee Satchell, claimed: “Everyone has been a bit jumpy ever since Neymar went to PSG.
“They thought Milner was untouchable but when you see the lengths PSG are willing to go to sign world-class players then you start to reassess.
“Let’s not beat around the bush. How many left-backs are there with a better right foot than Milner?
“Sure, he always has to cut in to cross, and it normally hits the first man, but that’s not the point.
“Penalty record? Pretty much 100%. He always scores them in training. Flair? He’s got the best drop of the shoulder in Europe.
“And if you want to talk about marketability there aren’t many better out there. Every time he tweets he goes viral.
“It’s a wonder no one has come in for him already. He’s safe for now. But with the amount of money flying around at the moment you never know.”
