The art of the football celebration has become one of the most intriguing aspects of the professional game.
But just when you thought players were knee-sliding too often, Dries Mertens has emerged to save the day.
The little Belgian has been in truly electric form for Napoli in recent months, scoring 20 times in all competitions this season and baggin two hat-tricks since Christmas.
And, after opening the scoring in a huge Serie A clash with Roma on Saturday, Mertens showcased a pretty unique way of celebrating:
Mertens went onto score again as Napoli moved within two points of Roma and simultaneously damaged their title hopes with a 2-1 win at the Stadio Olimpico.
Any chance we’ll see this introduced when FIFA 18 is launched later this year?
