James Rodriguez hasn’t had the best of seasons at Real Madrid – and he’s starting to express his frustration.
The Colombian star has fallen down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane, with the Frenchman’s switch to a 4-3-3 and Casemiro’s emergence meaning little room to accommodate him.
And after earning a rare start on Wednesday night against Leganes, Rodriguez was allegedly caught venting his anger at Zidane after being substituted in the 70th minute.
The Real number 10 supposedly muttered “Motherf***** doesn’t even play me the whole match” while walking towards the bench, according to Deportes Cuatro.
Zidane admitted after the game that James was annoyed at his premature ending to the game.
He said: “These are things that happen and that’s it. He played well and I am pleased with that.
“I don’t have anything against James, quite the opposite.
“It is true that he isn’t on the pitch as much, but he is offensive and works hard.”
Rodriguez has been restricted to just eight starts in La Liga this season but has still contributed three goals and six assists.
He also opened the scoring in the 4-2 win on Wednesday night before Alvaro Morata’s hat-trick killed the game and put Real back on top of the table.
James has been constantly linked with a summer move away from the Bernabeu, with Liverpool and Bayern Munich reportedly leading the race for his signature.
He’s also been mooted as a potential makeweight in any bid from Real for Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
