There isn’t much between them.
And with the Manchester clubs set to do battle for the first time this season on Saturday lunchtime, we’ll get a nice idea of where both sides stand.
But Peter Schmeichel, speaking exclusively live to Dream Team, knows who he thinks will eventually be lifting the Premier League trophy come May.
Schmeichel is backing his former club United to pip arch rivals City to the title after a summer of impressive recruitment.
The great Dane believes there are fine margins between the two, but Jose Mourinho’s Premier League experience gives him the edge over Pep Guardiola.
Schmeichel, a FIFA Ultimate Team legend in EA SPORTS FIFA 17 said, said: “With Mourinho’s experience in the Premier League and the fact Pep doesn’t have any, that could make the major difference come May.
“Jose has bought in four fantastic players in my opinion and they are going to get everyone very excited.”
Schmeichel also welcomed the return of United’s knack of winning games in the latter stages after their last gasp win at Hull two weeks ago.
“It was like the return of the old Manchester United,” he added.
“The weather conditions were a bit tough but they scored two minutes into added time which hasn’t happened for a long time.”
FIFA Ultimate Team legend Peter Schmeichel was speaking at the EE Wembley Cup final ahead of the EA SPORTS FIFA 17 launch on the 29th September. Legends are exclusively available on Xbox One and Xbox 360, to find out more head to http://www.easports.com/uk/fifa
