We’re starting to like the way Chinese Super League clubs are approaching the transfer window.
It’s like on Football Manager when you give yourself a £500million budget and set about buying anyone and everyone you want.
Axel Witsel’s move to Tianjin Quanjian is, quite literally, yesterday’s news.
Today’s target is Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is the subject of a €150mil bid from Shanghai SPIG, according to Gazzetta dello Sports.
Aubameyang, currently the Bundesliga’s top scorer, has already smashed his way to 21 goals for club and country this season.
Shanghai, who count Oscar and Hulk among their ranks, want to catch Man City and Real Madrid cold with a world record bid.
The report claims Aubameyang would rake in €41m-a-season while playing in China, although he will be heading to the African Cup of Nations with host country Gabon this month.

Aubameyang has gone on record to state his desire to play for Madrid on several occasions but, as Witsel proved when he turned down Juventus, money talks.
If Auba does head to Shanghai it would be another addition to the already stacked raced for the Chinese Super League golden boot.
Carlos Tevez, Obafemi Martins, Graziano Pelle, Jackson Martinez, Demba Ba… we could go on.
We know who our money is on. All aboard the Oba.
