9 of the world’s fastest players’ predicted speed stats in FIFA 18

FIFA 18 is fast approaching – so what better time to speculate on what’s going to happen to some of the quickest players in the world.

In FIFA 17, Borussia Dortmund speedster Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was the fastest player in standard card form, boasting a stunning 96 speed rating.

To come up with the scores, we looked into each player’s speed ratings across various versions of their cards.

The FIFA 17 card is on the left, while our predicted FIFA 18 rating is on the right.

Let’s kick things off.

Sadio Mane

The Liverpool man will be the joint fastest player in the game – with his pace likely jumping up to the 98 mark.

Seem high? His Ones to Watch card rewarded the Senegalese ace with a near perfect 99 speed score.

The Borussia Dortmund speedster will also get a boost in FIFA 18 – becoming the joint fastest player in the game with Mane.

His Team of The Week card gave him 98 in this attribute – along with 96 acceleration, so he’ll be even more lethal.

Hector Bellerin

The Arsenal speedster will get even quicker in FIFA 18 – likely matching his recent Winter Upgrade score of 97.

His acceleration in that card was blistering-fast 98 – which gives you an idea of what you can expect this year.

Gareth Bale

The Real Madrid speed merchant will likely see his speed boosted to 95.

His pace has continued to increase since FIFA 15, where he scored 93, so we’d expect this trend to continue.

Ousmane Dembélé

The 19-year-old will almost certainly see his speed jump up a few points as he continues to mature.

He won’t be able to keep up with the likes of Bellerin and Aubameyang in FIFA 18 but he’s still one of the quickest around.

Theo Walcott

10

Theo Walcott may still be rapid in real life, but on FIFA he’s starting to slow down.

The Arsenal star dropped from 96 pace in FIFA 16 to 93 in FIFA 17.

We’d expect to see another small drop this year.

Cristiano Ronaldo

2

There’s no doubt that Cristiano Ronaldo will be the best player on the game, but when it comes to his speed, he won’t be as quick.

The 32-year-old is ever-so-slightly starting to slow down – as should be expected after years at the very top level.

He’ll likely drop a couple of points to 90 – still ranking him amongst the game’s fastest.

Lionel Messi

2

The Argentine is at the very top of his game – and is as quick as ever.

We’d expect his pace to climb slightly to 90 – with acceleration scoring between 97-99.

He’ll be 30 by the time the next game drops so this may be the last time he scores in the 90s for speed.

Mathis Bolly

2

Believe it or not, 26-year-old Mathis Bolly was the joint fastest player in FIFA 17 – with a blistering 96 pace.

Perhaps even more impressive is that the SpVgg Greuther Furth midfielder has held on to this rating for the last couple of FIFAs.

We doubt it’ll go up again – it may even take a slight hit.
