What’s been your favourite World Cup moment so far?
Perhaps it’s Cristiano Ronaldo’s spell-bounding free-kick against Spain, or Germany’s shock defeat to Mexico?
Well, either way, ours is definitely Spain’s Gerard Pique and Isco escorting tiny birds off the pitch in their clash against Iran.
It’s just so heart-warming.
Spain and Iran were just preparing for kick-off when Pique – celebrating his 100th cap on the night – noticed the stranded creatures at the side of the pitch.
And rather than rely on them to head off on their own accord, the pair decided to take matters into their own hands.
Fortunately, the tiny birds appeared to be unhurt as they were able to fly off at some speed away from the field of play.
It’s a wonderful moment, although we’re not too sure on Isco’s technique, to be honest.
Much like the Iranian defenders, that bird looked absolutely terrified.
Still, top work lads.
