There’s nothing more tense than a penalty shootout. Just the slightest mistake can cost you dearly.
But what happens if no team manages to score any on FIFA 17? Does the game recognise what’s going on?
YouTuber DailyTradingTips decided to find out and kept on taking dud penalties – with interesting results.
The first effect comes after 30 or 40 attempts.
The commentators begin to troll you – with one saying, ‘any time soon’, then laughing.
It’s followed by: “Here we go again, this penalty shootout is never ending.”
Initial signs, then, suggest that EA did factor in penalty shootouts to last this long.
However, a few more penalties in and the scoreboard starts to mess up – sometimes displaying for red circles, other times five.
This gets even worse with time, with the red dots randomly appearing in weird parts of the top left display.
After a while, the commentator begins to break, too – repeating his words and not making any sense.
So, it seems as though EA didn’t factor for penalty shootouts lasting more than 50 kicks.
