PAUL BUCKLE hailed his three Liverpool loanees after they helped earn his first win as Robins boss.
Reds defender Lloyd Jones, 19, midfielder Kevin Stewart, 21, and forward Jack Dunn, 19, were signed 48 hours before the game.
But after Oxford bossed the first half and led through Wes Burns’ 19th-minute header, the trio showed their class.
Dunn lashed in a low equaliser on 40 minutes and Stewart curled in a 20-yard winner on the stroke of half time.
Then Jones played a big part in keeping the U’s out to bring Cheltenham a first league win in 10 games.
Buckle, who replaced the sacked Mark Yates in November, said: “All three did very well. It was positive to bring them in.
“With the work the staff and players have put in, we deserve that result.”
Oxford’s head coach Michael Appleton said: “It’s a game we let slip away.
“We’ve got to be better than that defensively.”
