MARTIN DEMICHELIS has officially retired from football at the age of 36 — and there was a mixed reaction on Twitter.

The former defender started his career at River Plate — winning two league titles — before moving to Bayern Munich in 2003.

Demichelis started the 2010 Champions League final, where Bayern lost to Inter Milan.
After three years at Malaga, he followed Manuel Pellegrini to City where he won the league and League Cup double in his first season — and won the latter again in 2016.
