WEST BROM are ready to vie for Troy Deeney again – with Tony Pulis’ bid for Jermain Defoe in the balance.
Last summer the Baggies failed in an attempt to sign Watford captain Deeney, but the club believe he is more likely to sign than the Sunderland striker.
The 28-year-old is ready to leave Watford after he lost his guaranteed starting place and the £50,000-a-week Brummie is willing to move back to the Midlands.

While Pulis would like to bring Deeney in, Defoe is the club’s first choice, he has scored 14 goals in the Premier League where Deeney has scored 10.
Pulis said: “We have got lists of players that we have identified, the big thing here is finding out the expense, and we haven’t done that on Jermain yet.”
West Brom have lost four games on the bounce since scrapping to safety and remain in eighth place in the Premier League table, but have lost touch with Everton, six points ahead of them.
