Ever wondered why loads of footballers wear wrist tape these days? (probably not)

Well other than to look cool, they wear it for a few other legitimate reasons too.

First of all it can be worn to protect their wrists, cover tattoos, to go over bracelets as well as for superstitious reasons.

It’s obvious goalkeepers wear them to protect their wrists.

Sadio Mane wears tape on both wrists to give himself double protection as the tricky Liverpool forward is frequently being fouled and tripped over.

While Gareth Bale wears his to cover up his Livestrong bracelet which he’s worn throughout his career.

Luis Suarez wears it for a handful of reasons.

As he is covering bracelets and tattoos, whilst it’s also reported he wears it for protection from a previous injury and because he’s slightly superstitious.
