RB Leipzig are plotting to hijack Manchester United’s move for winger Umaro Embalo, according to reports.
The Red Devils were thought to be on the brink of landing the hot prospect from Portuguese giants Benfica.
Embalo’s agent also confirmed on Monday that “we have already met with Benfica and Manchester, there is no agreement, but there are conversations.”
United, who have been scouting the 16-year-old for the best part of the year, were ready to spend around £5million on the talent.
But reported by Portuguese publication A Bola, Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are ready to blow United’s offer out of the window with a £11.6m bid.
United manager Jose Mourinho and super agent Jorge Mendes are trying to play a major role in convincing Embalo to continue his progression in England.

Real Madrid had also been hunting the star – with reports suggesting they bid around £9m for his services.
Embalo only arrived in Portugal in 2014 at a holiday camp arranged by Benfica for Guinean youngsters.
He impressed so much, he snared a spot at AD Oeiras, where he spent a season prior to being brought to Primeira Liga giants Benfica.
Much like Paris Saint-Germain star Di Maria, Embalo is left-footed and primarily plays on the right wing, cutting inside and tormenting defences.
He has already scored five times in just 12 games for Benfica’s youth team this season.
In fact, Embalo has already had a taste of life in Manchester, having taken on United twice in this season’s Uefa Youth League.
On top of his club exploits, Embalo has also been prolific internationally, netting an incredible 15 times in just 18 games for Portugal’s Under-17s.
