Emre Can set to sign pre-contract with Juventus in January after failed deadline day move

The Italians were linked with a move for the forward all summer but could even make a £9million bid if they are in the knock-out stages of the Champions League

Emre Can is reportedly set to sign a pre-contract with Juventus in January.

The German attacker has been linked with a move to the Serie A giants for a number of months and there was even a deadline day bid rejected by Liverpool.

But Italian paper Tuttosport are now claiming Can, 23, will pen a deal with Juve in the New Year when he is allowed to start talking to foreign clubs.

Can currently has less than a year on his current contract with Liverpool and is free to negotiate with clubs outside of England from January.

Juve were reported to have had a £23million bid rejected by the Reds last Thursday but Liverpool remain confident Can will sign a new deal.

But Tuttosport also claim Juve could make a £9million bid in January if they are still in the Champions League.

Juventus’ general manager confirmed last week that he intends to open discussions with Can.

Beppe Marotta said: “Liverpool are holding on tight to Emre Can.

Can joined Liverpool in 2014 from Bayer Levekusen and is one of the first names on Jurgen Klopp’s team-sheet.

He scored twice against Hoffenheim last month to help the Anfield club secure Champions League football.
