Kylian Mbappe is reportedly set to join Paris Saint-Germain after being offered DOUBLE the wages he was by Real Madrid.
The Monaco teenage hotshot’s has been the longest running transfer saga of the summer.
A host of European giants such as Champions League winners Madrid and a host of Premier League clubs have been trying to seal a deal for the striker.
But it is PSG who appear to have finally won the race for Mbappe, according to Marca.
And it has been the huge financial package on offer that has swung the potential £183m deal in their favour.
The France international is due to pocket a whopping £265,000-a-week at the Parc des Princes, where he will line-up in attack with the world’s most-expensive player Neymar.
Madrid were also willing to meet the huge asking price set by Monaco.
However, they were unable to strike a deal with the player’s representatives when it came to his pay packet.
The Spanish side were determined not to break their wage structure, and their offer was blown out of the water as PSG doubled it.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was also interested in bringing Mbappe to England.
But the ex-Barcelona chief and Etihad officials were put off by his financial demands.
Now as things currently stand, the agreement between Monaco and PSG is in place with the player also happy for it to be finalised.
The only sticking point now is waiting for Uefa’s approval due to their Financial Fair Play rulings.
Only yesterday Monaco supporters were boosted when reports from Yahoo France claimed that Mbappe did not want to leave and would rather spend his formative footballing years in the Principality.
But that now looks like being nothing more than speculation as the teen’s future looks set to take him to the capital.
And not too many of his team-mates might be upset to see him depart.
Just last week he was sent home from training and left out of the squad for Friday’s victory at Metz after a furious training ground row with Monaco colleague Andrea Raggi.
