Coutinho is said to have a niggling back injury with Spanish outlet Sport suggesting Liverpool are ensuring he doesn’t worsen the injury and hamper a deal.

The saga surrounding the Brazilian star has been an intriguing one.

Firstly Liverpool rejected a £72m bid, then another offer – this time around the £90m mark.

The club then released a statement assuring Coutinho would be staying at Anfield… before the player then stunned the club by handing in a transfer request.

Jurgen Klopp and Co are now set to cash in on the forward, with the Reds expected to accept a £109m offer.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are also confident of tying up a deal for £90m man Dembele from Borussia Dortmund.

The two new signings would mean the La Liga giants would have already splashed the £198m earned from the sale of star man Neymar to PSG earlier this summer.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are hoping to conclude some new signings of their own following their disappointing 3-3 draw with Watford in their opening Premier League game.

The Reds are still keen to land £60m-rated Virgil van Dijk, with Julian Draxler, Naby Keita and Jean Michael Seri also on Klopp’s radar.
