Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be in line for a sensational return to AC Milan after sporting director Massimo Mirabelli confirmed the possibility.

The Italian said: “Ibrahimovic? In life, never say never. Maybe an old acquaintance of ours could come back.

“I don’t want to hint at Ibra, that’s not the case. We have our feet on the ground.

“We’ll evaluate the things that we have to do after August 15.”

It’s already been a super transfer window for Milan, having brought in the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Franck Kessie, Andre Silva, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ricardo Rodriguez and Andrea Conti amongst others.

However the icing on the cake would be bringing Ibrahimovic back to the club he won one Scudetto title with in a two-season stay.

Ibra banged in 56 goals in 85 games for the Rossoneri, before he moved to Paris Saint-Germain where he won four consecutive Ligue 1 championships as well as becoming the club’s all-time top goalscorer.

MLS outfit LA Galaxy remain keen on bringing him to America, but he is set to reject their approach.

Milan will make a last-ditch attempt to convince their former star to return to Italy, although it’s believed he has his heart set on staying with United.
