Manchester United have completed the signing of 16-year-old wonderkid Arnau Puigmal from Espanyol.
The teenager has arrived at the club’s training complex to sign on the dotted line, and was pictured proudly holding the club’s home shirt.
Things got even better for the hot prospect. He netted on his debut for the U18 side against SV Ebensee in Austria on Friday.
Puigmal has been told of the plans to develop him into a first-team player at United over the coming years.
Jose Mourinho‘s side have moved quickly to secure his signature, agreeing the deal in principle back in May.
United fear losing even more ground to neighbours City and their state-of-the-art academy.
Although the Citizens are banned from signing youth players from fellow English clubs, they are still able to snap-up talent from around the world.
But United will feel like they have stolen a march by securing the highly-rated Puigmal, whose exit is a massive blow to La Liga side Espanyol.
He was described as the “star of the Spanish side’s academy”, and was spotted by United scouts while turning out for the club’s Cadete A outfit.
