ARSENAL have had a bid rejected for long-term target Napoli midfielder Jorginho.
The offer for Jorginho from the Gunners was set to be in the range of £15million.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport whilst the Italy international isn’t necessarily guaranteed a first-team place at the San Paolo, the Partenopei rebuffed the approach and have advised the North London club Jorginho is going nowhere.
Brazilian-born Italian international Jorginho is a product of the Hellas Verona youth system and joined Napoli in January 2014 for £8m.
Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of the midfielder and has been watching him since 2015.
Last season he made 31 appearances between Serie A and the Champions League, often benched in favour of Allan or Amadou Diawara.
The Italian international has gone from strength to strength in the Napoli midfield, it was recently revealed that the 25-year-old made more passes per game than any other player in Europe’s top 5 leagues last season.
