It’s official guys; Manchester United are literally linked with everyone this summer.
You name ’em, United probably want to buy ’em.
Even Middlesbrough players, apparently.
That’s according to Italian website Tutto Mercato Web, who claim the Red Devils are competing with the likes of Atalanta and Lazio in Serie A for the signature of Marten de Roon.
The Dutchman, whose performances in the Premier League last season were one of the few highlights of Boro’s dire campaign, is reportedly valued between £10-12million, which could potentially put off his former club Atalanta.
De Roon’s first season in the Premier League was actually pretty good, with the midfielder making 36 appearances and scoring five times.
His big moment was when he scored his first goal for the club, which happened to be an injury-time equaliser against Man City.
United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his midfield options this season, with Monaco star Fabinho and Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic just two of the names linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Victor Lindelof remains Mourinho’s only signing so far this summer, while big names such as Alvaro Morata, James Rodriguez and even Cristiano Ronaldo are all rumoured to be on the radar.
