Remember him?

That’s right, it’s Loic Remy.

The Frenchman joined Chelsea in the summer of 2014 after a sparkling loan spell with Newcastle.

But since then he’s become one of the most anonymous figures in the league to the point that most fans have forgotten he calls Stamford Bridge his home ground.

While Antonio Conte’s troops stormed to the title last season, Remy endured a goalless loan spell at Crystal Palace.

Now the club are ready to release him for a nominal fee to allow the 30-year-old to relaunch his faltering career.

Remy still has 12 months to run on his £80,000-a-week contract but does not feature in Conte’s plans and is keen to move on.

It’s easy to forget that Chelsea’s forgotten man has 31 caps for France as well.

Nowadays he’s not even on Didier Deschamps’ radar having not scored a goal since December 2015.

Elsewhere, the Blues are closing in on a deal to land Monaco’s powerhouse midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The defensive midfielder will undergo a medical in England next week ahead of a £35million switch.

If the move does go through it could mean that Nemanja Matic will move closer to a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Man United.
