Liverpool and Arsenal are to be priced out of a move for wonderkid Marco Asensio with Real Madrid set to insert a £310MILLION release clause in a new contract.
The 21-year-old is currently lighting up the European Under-21 Championship in Poland with Spain, with his performances only adding more millions onto his value.
And as expected, it has made Real Madrid move quickly to tie down one of the brightest prospects in Spanish football.
According to reports in Spain, Liverpool made a £42m bid for Asensio in January that was rejected, and Arsenal were alsom believe dto be preparing a move this summer.
But as SunSport has previously reported, the 21-year-old is about to put pen to paper on an improved contract with the European champions that would keep him at the club till 2023.
Any move to the Premier League appears to be dead in the water with the staggering buy-out clause way out of reach.
Asensio will be on the same tier of salary as the likes of Lucas Vazquez, Mateo Kovacic and Dani Carvajal.
He scored the fourth goal in the 4-1 Champions League final win over Juventus in Cardiff and has made a positive impact under Zidane.
The former Mallorca attacking midfielder only cost Real £3.5m when he signed from the Balearic club in 2014.
