Antonio Conte’s Chelsea overhaul is well and truly underway as FIVE new players have been targeted for next season’s title and Champions League push.
Stars are in various stages of the transfer process, with Romelu Lukaku and Tiemoue Bakayoko close to signing and three others not far behind – say the Mirror.
The Blues are of course already cash rich with the title win and owner Roman Abramovich’s billions – but will be boosted by the impending sale of Diego Costa.
Abramovich needed to follow through with his promise of funds given he incentiveised Conte to stay with the title winners and not jump back to Italy after just one season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
And it does seem like Conte has free reign, with the £70million arrival of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku all-but-done – having sold him to the Toffees for £28m in 2014.
And it is also claimed that a £40m deal for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko could be completed as early as the end of this week.

Three other deals are reportedly a bit further back in progress – including a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s playmaker Marco Verratti, a player who Conte has long-admired.
He tried to sign him while Juventus boss for £70m but the Italian stayed in France – and now with Verratti himself set on leaving, they could finally be reunited providing Barcelona don’t nip in first.
That puts the future of midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic in doubt – the former not content with bench-warming, and Matic potentially being a pawn in the transfer of Italian centre-back Leonardo Bonucci.
The final person wanted is Bonucci’s Juventus team-mate Alex Sandro, with Conte wanting to strengthen at left-back – but the £52m asking price for the 26-year-old is a stumbling block.
