CHhelsea have reportedly agreed a £35million deal with Monaco for Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The Blues are now set to discuss terms with the French star and hope to announce his arrival this week.
L’Equipe claim that the 23-year-old midfielder is excited at the prospect of working with Antonio Conte.
And he has his heart set on joining the Premier League champions.
Chelsea have been in negotiations with the Ligue 1 title winners for the last month for the star.
They faced competition from a number of clubs, including Manchester United, for Bakayoko.
However, his desire to move to Stamford Bridge has allowed the Blues to steal a march on the Red Devils and now they appear set to complete the deal.
Bakayoko’s arrival will fuel further speculation regarding Nemanja Matic’s future at Chelsea.
The enforcer has been linked with United and a potential reunion with Jose Mourinho.
It has been claimed that contract discussions have already taken place between his representatives and Old Trafford chiefs.
All that remains now is for the two clubs to agree a fee.
Meanwhile, Monaco have already snapped up Bakayoko’s replacement in Soualiho Meite.
The 23-year-old is joining the club from Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem for £7m.
