Man United are set to allow Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract to expire at the end of this month without offering him a new deal.
The Swede finished as the Red Devils’ top scorer with 28 goals but an ACL injury threw his future up in the air, despite his strong season at Old Trafford.
According to Sky Sports, Man Utd are unlikely to offer Ibrahimovic a contract extension.
A source says the 35-year-old is expected to appear on a list of released players from the Premier League.
Ibrahimovic had surgery on his damaged knee and appears to be well ahead of schedule as he has already been back kicking a football.
Despite it looking likely that Ibrahimovic will leave Old Trafford, his agent Mino Raiola says his client wants to stay in England.
Raiola told TalkSPORT: “There is a possibility [he stays] but also that he does not.
“We have talked, he has a lot of offers and ideas that we have to evaluate.
“He’s had a fantastic time at United and it’s now up to us and the club to decide.
“We have a date for that but now is time to recover.”
So where next? Stoke to go and prove he can do it on a cold Tuesday night? Or is he going to venture outside of the Premier League?
Farewell Zlatan, thanks for the memories.
He came, he saw, and he was pretty darn good
