Christian Eriksen admits he wishes to play at the “highest level” as Barcelona circle.
The Tottenham playmaker, 25, has caught the eye of the Catalan giants after a sensational season at White Hart Lane.
Eriksen, who completed a trial at Barca before joining Ajax, said: “I was there at one point, and it was not very good.
“Barcelona are a great club. I don’t think there are many who say no to Barcelona.
“In the future I see myself at the highest level. That’s what I dream about.
“It can be about two to three years. It may be in another club or it could be Tottenham if we have come all the way up.”
Barcelona would need to spend big to sign the Dane, who is contracted to Spurs until 2020.
But new boss Ernesto Valverde has a war chest at his disposal in order to get the club back to winning ways.
A disappointing season saw Barca finish runners up in La Liga and knocked out in the Champions League quarter-finals to Juventus.
But money alone may not be enough to tempt Eriksen into moving this summer.
Speaking to Ekstra Badet, he added: “I still have a contract with Tottenham for a few more years.
“There are always rumours about footballers.”
