Arsenal have long been linked with Forsberg, who signed a new five-year contract with RB Leipzig in February.

The 25-year-old winger assisted 19 goals and scored eight himself in 30 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Forsberg’s fine form played a key role in helping Leipzig achieve a stunning second-place finish during their first season in the top flight.

And he is now set to be rewarded with a big-money move to either England or Germany.

It’s said that Arsenal and Bayern have both made offers believed to be around the £30m mark.

However, Leipzig are determined to keep hold of all their best players this summer as they made an audacious bid for Bayern’s title.

That means it could take bids closer to the £40m mark to persuade Leipzig to sell, with Naby Keita another top target for various elite clubs.
