Gael Clichy has confirmed he will leave Manchester City in the summer – and could spark a summer exodus.
Pep Guardiola is expected to release a number of his first team squad as part of a summer overhaul to get his team back challenging for the Premier League.
The French defender’s contract expires in July and he revealed in a Q&A that he will not be signing a new deal.
Clichy said: “It’s hard. I’m not sure whether or not Joe will be here next season, and I won’t be here next season.”
The former Arsenal left-back was talking at an exclusive screening of a documentary about City’s title win back in 2012 called 93:20.
As well as Clichy, Bacary Sagna, Willy Caballero, Jesus Navas, Yaya Toure and Tosin Adarabioyo could all leave this summer.
Sagna and Caballero are expected to join Pablo Zabaleta out the door.
Navas has been offered an extension on his current deal but could make a return to boyhood club Sevilla.
Toure looks likely to pen a new deal but a mega-money offer from another club could see him exit while Adarabioyo looks set to pen an extension.
City are looking at potential replacements for Clichy including Juventus full-back Alex Sandro.
The Brazilian has been part of the brilliant Juve team that are on course to win the treble if they can defeat Real Madrid in the Champions League next month.
Monaco defender Benjamin Mendy is also on City’s radar and could be tempted by a move to the Premier League.
