Paulo Dybala – NOT Antoine Griezmann – should be Jose Mourinho’s no.1 target, says ex-star

Red Devils keen on making another marquee signing this summer and Owen Hargreaves feels Juventus ace is perfect

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho has been urged to abandon his pursuit of Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann and move for Juventus ace Paulo Dybala instead.

Former Red Devil Owen Hargreaves believes his old side need a star name to arrive at Old Trafford this summer following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s long-term injury.

And rather than sign Griezmann, who has been strongly linked with United, Hargreaves reckons Mourinho would be better off landing Dybala – even though he’s just signed a new contract.

Hargreaves told BT Sport: “You have to look at what you have and what you desperately need, I think they need a Dybala-type player.

“Everybody speaks about Griezmann, I think Griezmann would be terrific. But I think Dybala, he’s a little bit younger, he’s going to be a superstar if he isn’t already.

“He would be magnificent. That star power that Ibra brought, I think Dybala could bring that as well.”

The youngster has also been linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona after impressing this season.

United have a history of business with Juventus, having paid a world-record £89million to re-sign Paul Pogba last year.

But they would most likely have to set a new record fee again if they want to prise Dybala from Turin.
