Tottenham are chasing ‘the next Sergio Aguero’
Tottenham are among a host of European clubs who are chasing River Plate forward Sebastian Driussi – dubbed ‘the new Sergio Aguero’.
Driussi has been compared to his Manchester City compatriot, after scoring 10 goals in 14 matches in the Argentinian league before the summer break.
So no pressure then, eh?
The 20-year-old – who has been capped at Under-17 and U20 level for Argentina – is reportedly also being chased by Serie A leaders Juventus.
But Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is ready to use his contacts in Argentina to gain advantage over any potential transfer rivals.
River Plate’s club president Rodolfo D’Onofrio and technical director Enzo Francescoli seem open to negotiating a deal with the Premier League side – but only if the north London side are willing to pay more than £10million for his services, and agree on a sizeable sell-on clause.
They also want him to Argentina on loan for the rest of the season.
