Preston North End will give away 4,700 masks with their manager’s face on
There will be over 4,700 Simon Grayson’s at the DW Stadium on Saturday – one in the dugout and the rest in the terraces.
Preston North End are celebrating the Yorkshireman’s anniversary, after he joined the club in 2013.
They are handing out ‘Simon Grayson masks’ to their travelling supporters ahead of their game against Wigan.
The reverse side of the masks will be all yellow, like their away kit, and the club have urged supporters to flip their masks around when the players emerge from the tunnel.
Even Simon himself has admitted it’s a bit weird…
He said: “It will be quite scary to see I suppose! It’s a nice idea, I’m not sure who is going to get the blame for this!
“There will be one or two left on the mantelpiece by the parents I think to keep the kids away from the fire.
“But it’s nice that the club have done it, though I think it might be best to use the yellow as opposed to the face throughout the course of the match!”

This is not the first time Grayson has spent a lengthy period of time at a football club – and in this day and age that takes some doing.
In his first role as manager he was Blackpool from 2005 to 2008, before joining Leeds United for a four year spell.
Before joining Preston, he had a brief year-long spell at Huddersfield and he staggeringly earned promotion with every club he has managed.
He is now the second-longest serving manager in the Championship behind Mick McCarthy at Ipswich.
