Back England to get their revenge against Iceland in the Nations League courtesy of a brilliant boost from Betway

England’s squad is younger, hipper and heaps better than the one that fell to Iceland at Euro 2016, and the Three Lions will be ready and raring to get their revenge on the Nordic side in this evening’s Nations League clash.

We’re backing Gareth Southgate and the boys to end the thunderclap-themed torment we’ve been constantly revisiting over the last four years with a brilliant boost courtesy of our chums over at Betway.

This price boost makes England available from odds-on to 2/1 – bringing great value in a game which sees the Three Lions as heavy favourites.

Much has changed since bumbling Roy Hodgson led a sorry side to one of its most embarrassing tournament exits in living memory.

For starters, Roy is long gone… now in the dugout is Southgate our saviour – whose young side is a far cry from the team that consisted of an ageing Wayne Rooney, a hapless Joe Hart and a long-forgotten Daniel Sturridge.

England will be go for jugular in this one boasted by the exciting talent of Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden – both expected to play some part here – alongside household names like Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling and, of course, Harry Kane.

What’s more, Iceland are no longer the dark horse of international football after a less-than-impressive run out at the 2018 World Cup followed by a poor run in the Nations League last time around, which saw them thumped in four straight matches and score just a single goal.

In contrast, England have failed to keep a clean sheet just twice in their last seven matches while their last three have seen them rack up seventeen goals – including the seven they sank past Montenegro.

Southgate’s side also thoroughly enjoyed themselves in this competition last time, finishing in third place overall after getting the better of both Croatia and Spain in their group.
