Sterling, who has scored 15 goals in the Premier League this season, has a real knack for finding himself three yards out from goal looking at nothing but net.

It is part of Pep Guardiola’s philosophy at Man City.

Gareth Southgate has clearly been watching and learning as the goal is a carbon copy of 90% of the Citizens goals this season.

Perhaps he has been missing a counterpart on the other wing like he has recently found with Sancho?

The Borussia Dortmund winger made a darting run down the side of the box leaving Sterling with the simplest of tasks to make it 1-0.
