This is the definition of scenes.
Marcus Rashford has just stunned the Parc des Prince… with a little bit of help from the ref.
The Man United striker hammered home a penalty to send complete a historic comeback in Paris.
No side had ever progressed after losing a first home leg 2-0 but Rashford made sure ole Gunnar Solsjkaer’s most famous now has a rival.
Romelu Lukaku had scored twice to put United 2-1 up on the night and make sure the second half was very interesting.
The game was fizzling out until Diogo Dalot tried to smash one in from 18 yards.
The ball flew out for a corner, until suddenly the referee signalled that it was going to be reviewed by VAR.
On second viewing the ball had hit Presnel Kimpembe’s arm as he tried to block the shot.
But was it intentional? Was his arm in an unnatural position? The referee took a couple of minutes to check the replays and made the momnumental decision that it was.
Penalty to United.
It was a very controversial decision with Rio Ferdinand seriously questioning how it can be given as handball in that situation.
21-year-old Rashford stepped up with an unbelievable pressure on his shoulders.
Score and he would enter United history by completing the most remarkable comeback, miss and he could cost Solskjaer a permanent job.
There seemed to be an interminable wait for the players to sort themselves out before he could take his first ever penalty.
And he absolutely buried it.
It was a moment of real tension and Rashford just hammered the ball home with aplomb.
Misson impossible accomplished.
the whole result was even more impressive as United arrived with five teenagers on the bench and at least seven first team players out.
Solsjkaer’s injury-ravaged squad performed admirably against PSG and Rashford’s finishing touch sent everyone of them to cloud nine.
This is a night Man United fans will never forget.
