Jose Mourinho tells the ‘most underrated player in the world’ to improve his Instagram game

Mourinho is easily a better pundit than he is manager now

Whether it’s management or punditry, Jose Mourinho tends to be box office.

Since he was sacked by Man United in December the self proclaimed Special One has made a number of media appearances, mainly for beIN Sports.

Angling for a new job, Jose? Or are are we just trying to stay relevant?

Anyway, he was a pundit for their coverage of the second Clasico in a week on Saturday and offered a number of interesting titbits.

His assessment of Barcelona’s match winner Ivan Rakitic was particularly noteworthy, not just for his words on the Croatian but his thinly veiled jibe at arch nemesis Paul Pogba.

Pogba and Mourinho’s styles clashed at Old Trafford, with the Frenchman’s active social media presence irking his former manager time and time again.

So, when praising Rakitic, Jose couldn’t resist a little dig at his ex pupil.

“For me Rakitic is one of the most underrated players in the world, he’s fantastic at every level,” he told beIN Sports.

“He does fantastic work on the right hand side to compensate for Messi, he runs miles.

“He is fantastic, he is simple, he is effective.

“He needs to improve his Instagram and his social media because at this moment it is very important.

“He is not very good on that but he is very good on the pitch.”

As you watch the interview taking place you can clearly see the smirk appearing on Jose’s face.

He is being heavily linked with a return to Real Madrid and a second damaging Clasico defeat in four days has heightened those rumours.

We’re not sure Pogba will be that bothered by this jibe though considering his liberation under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Never change, Jose.
