What don’t you do in the first minute while playing away at the Etihad?
You don’t hang around with it on the edge of your own box.
And that is exactly what Alex Iwobi did to allow Sergio Aguero to score with less than 60 seconds on the clock.
The Arsenal man was a surprise inclusion to the Gunner’s starting X1.
And he did not do much to repay his manager’s faith early on in the crucial game.
Before the game, Unai Emery would have been praying for cool heads.
Especially early on, considering some of the score lines Arsenal have been on the receiving end of at the Etihad.
Following early Man City pressure, Iwobi manages to regain possession around the edge of their box.
Before Arsenal could blink the ball had been nicked back by Man City and Aguero was on hand to do what Aguero does best.
With Liverpool watching the game with serious interest, the groans may have been louder in Liverpool than north London when Iwobi lost the ball.
The Argentinian striker bagged his 12th Premier League goal of the season with a diving header – always good to see.
Should the error lead to three points, you can be sure to see some dart boards with the Nigerian’s face on in Liverpool over the next week.
While Iwobi was not brought into the team to help out at the back, you have to be prepared to defend at the Etihad – no matter what position you play.
The winger will have to do some serious attacking to amend that defensive howler.
