The Special One? More like the special gone.
Yes, Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Man United after their terrible start to the season.
It is United’s worst ever start to a Premier League campaign.
The Red Devils are currently a distant sixth, 19 points behind leaders Liverpool and 11 off the top four.
All with a goal difference of 0… in December.
United said in a club statement: “The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.
“A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”
Mourinho’s side have been in gradual decline since the end of last season, failing to acquire any of his top transfer targets in the summer.
The players, as a result, look like shadows of their former selves and many have grown disillusioned by his management.
It appears the final straw came after their 3-1 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday which emphasised the gulf in class between the two great rivals.
