A spontaneous switch or a well-rehearsed routine?
We’re leaning towards the latter because, well, Borussia Dortmund have been absolutely breathtaking to watch this season.
Dortmund extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to nine points with a 2-1 victory over Werder Bremen yesterday.
Paco Alcacer and Marco Reus were scoring, Jadon Sancho was assisting and Dortmund were winning.
It’s been a familiar theme this season.
But the build up to Alcacer’s goal was the main talking point.
Reus and Raphael Guerreiro stood over a free kick, covertly exchanging a few words about their execution.
It looked for all the world like Guerreiro was going to take it, only for him to run over the ball and seemingly lose interest.
Instead, he came back from a different angle and shaped an inch perfect cross for Alcacer, who duly headed home.
The Werder defence were completely thrown by Guerreiro’s ploy, leaving Alcacer completely unmarked in the centre of the box.
