Would it be possible to name Glenn Murray in the England squad and only bring him on when we have a penalty?
Murray scored another ice cold spot kick against Crystal Palace to put the Seagulls 1-0 up.
But that was just the beginning of the fun at the Amex.
The M23 derby might be one of the less glamorous rivalries in the Premier League but it served up a 20 minute period of utter madness in the first half.
It’s fair to say Crystal Palace’s defenders had not switched on properly before all the fun started.
In the build up to the penalty decision there was some comedic efforts at defending from Aaron Wan Bissaka and Luka Milivojevic.
The ball ricocheted into the air in Palace’s area and Wan Bissaka went airborne to head clear.
Only he misjudged the flight of the ball and instead smashed straight into Milivojevic with the ball spinning off towards goal.
Brighton’s Jose Izquierdo sniffed a chance and managed to get in ahead of James McArthur.
The Palace winger brought him down with a challenge that was controversially given as a penalty – it looked like he definitely got some of the ball before the man.
That moment sparked a 20 minutes of pure chaos.
Shane Duffy was shown a straight red card for a headbutt in the aftermath of another penalty call.
Pascal Gross was sacrificed for Leon Balogun to shore things up, only for Balogun to come on and score a delightful volley with his very first touch.
Then in the fourth minute of added time at the end of the first half 10-man Brighton scored a third through Florin Andone.
Phew, at least there was time to catch your breath at half time.
