Love him or hate him, Neymar is always box office.
That’s a guarantee.
Whether he’s making a mockery of hapless defenders with exuberant rainbow flicks or writhing around dramatically on the floor, there he is, the centre of your attention.
And last night’s win over Liverpool was the Brazilian in his element.
A cocktail of the sublime to the ridiculous, he both ran the show and frustrated the hell out of anyone watching.
One moment in the second half summed it all up.
With Presnel Kimpembe looking to launch a PSG attack, he played a pass into Neymar’s feet.
Only Neymar didn’t care for Kimpembe.
The Brazilian instead wasn’t looking at the ball, or the pitch altogether, and was gesticulating and shouting at the crowd instead.
Well PSG had experienced a slow start to the second half, so perhaps their fans were voicing their concerns and he was simply giving it back.
But imagine if a Liverpool player had pounced, launched a counter attack and equalised?
Luckily for the 26-year-old nothing came of the situation, but it was really quite weird.
Neymar gonna Neymar, but weird lapses like this are probably the reason he’ll never get close to Messrs Messi and Ronaldo.
