Big Eric Dier.
Sergio Ramos is still picking bits of him out of his leg after being given a large dose of his own medicine last week.
Sam Allardyce was widely ridiculed for comparing him to Spanish metronome Sergio Busquets… but Barcelona were evidently listening to every word.
That’s because, according to TEAMtalk, the Catalan giants’ hierarchy have instructed their scouts to keep a close eye on the Spurs man.
Barca want cover in a number of positions and have already signalled their intent to try and strengthen their centre-half options in January when the transfer window reopens.
The La Liga giants have Ajax’s Matthijs De Ligt in their sights, as well as Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren and Dier’s club team-mate Toby Alderweireld.
However, TEAMtalk insist that there is now a growing feeling within Barcelona that Dier could be the perfect choice for cover in central defence and central midfield – and they’ll continue to monitor the situation over the coming months.
So there you go.
