There’s some Samba magic in the air at the King Power this afternoon, with Leicester hosting Everton.
For the travelling fans of the Toffees, they get to see their summer signing Bernard make his first Premier League start for Marco Silva’s side today, while his compatriot Richarlison is playing up front.
And it didn’t take them long to dazzle their fans, with the two combing brilliantly for Everton’s opener.
After just six minutes, Bernard completely embarrassed Leicester’s right-side with both Ricardo Pereira and Daniel Amarte failing to dispossess him, despite doubling-up.
With a lovely bit of skill, the ex-Shakhtar Donetsk winger weaved between the two before floating a cross towards the back post towards Richarlison to volley home.
Fans of the club have been crying out for Silva to start with the duo this season, with Bernard playing too well at the moment to be ignored.
In midweek, he started in the Carabao Cup loss to Southampton and showed fans exactly what he could do on the flank, but struggled to with the lack of movement from Cenk Tosun.
So with Richarlison up front today and Walcott on the other flank, he’s certainly got plenty of movement to work with.
- Xavi is still playing football and he’s still the king of delivering balls on a plate
- David Moyes just said his Everton side was ‘a centre-forward away from competing for the title’
- Loris Karius adds another terrible blunder to his bloopers showreel
