MANCHESTER UNITED have slapped a £200million price tag on Paul Pogba with the midfielder expected to leave in January, according to reports.
United boss Jose Mourinho demoted Pogba from the vice captain’s role following another huge bust-up after Saturday’s draw against Wolves.
SunSport exclusively revealed Mourinho gave the 25-year-old a dressing room dressing down after his error led to Wolves’ equaliser.
That was followed by the midfielder criticising United’s style under Mourinho.
The Portuguese boss now wants to offload Pogba and, according to the Daily Mirror, United are demanding a fee of more than £200m.
With three years remaining on his contract, United will feel they have leverage over any potential deal.
Barcelona would likely disagree.
The Spanish giants have been keen on a move ever since the summer, with Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola looking to orchestrate the big-money move.
But Barca may feel they can take advantage of the murky situation at Old Trafford.
Pogba wants to go and Mourinho doesn’t want him, leaving the United hierarchy needing a swift resolution.
But the £200m valuation is in line with United’s belief that Pogba is among the best in the world, regarded alongside Neymar who joined PSG for £200m last summer.
It is just over two years since Pogba’s £89m return to Old Trafford from Juventus broke the transfer world record.
