N’Golo Kante has admitted he had contact from Paris St Germain over the summer.
The Chelsea midfielder has become hot property since he moved to the Premier League in 2015 and had several clubs chasing his signature.
The French midfielder attracted intense interest thanks to his performance over the last year in which he has lifted two trophies – one for club, the other for country.
With Chelsea, he helped them win the FA Cup in May and he received praise for his performance on the international stage where he was instrumental in France’s World Cup victory.
And he pint-sized superstar has revealed PSG gave him the opportunity to link up with his international team-mate and fellow star, Kylian Mbappe.
However, Kante has said he had “no urge” to leave Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to RMC Sport, he said: “There was no urge to go elsewhere after the World Cup.
“There were other club interests, but after talking to Chelsea, things were clear.
“The club is counting on me and I feel good, the next logical step was to continue at Chelsea.
“There were some contacts (from PSG), but after a discussion with Chelsea I realised that the main thing was to feel good where I was.”
Kante has made a name for himself since moving from Ligue 2 side Caen to Leicester.
He was pivotal for the Foxes in their domestic glory and when he departed they struggled to find the same form.
When Kante joined Chelsea, under Antonio Conte, he said: “I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It’s a dream come true.
“The opportunity to work with Antonio Conte, a brilliant coach, and some of the best players in the world was simply too good to turn down.”
