Marcus Bettinelli’s shock England call-up looked the best news for Fulham goalkeepers this international break – but team-mate Marek Rodak has surpassed it.
The Cottagers kid amazingly scored the winner in Slovakia Under-21’s 3-2 win over Iceland Under-21s.
With the scores level in the fourth minute of injury time, the 21-year-old stooped low to head into the corner from eight yards out.
Rodak, out on loan at Championship side Rotherham this season, was then mobbed his ecstatic team-mates.
The stopper has made just one first-team appearance for Fulham.
But given boss Slavisa Jokanovic’s penchant for attacking football, he may just have boosted his chances!
Either way, it provided Rodak with the ultimate Kodak moment.
Fulham have made a decent start to life back in the Premier League recovering from defeats to Crystal Palace and Tottenham.
The Cottagers took a point at Brighton earlier this month but face the mammoth task of taking on the champions Manchester City on Saturday,
Jokanovic’s side have not on at the Etihad since 2009 thanks to a Clint Dempsey double in a 3-1 win.
