BARCELONA are reportedly set to hand new deals to Ivan Raktic, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets… and Thomas Vermaelen.
Following the recent renewals of Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Sergi Roberto, Barca are keen to extend the contracts of the rest of their squad.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the La Liga champions will offer new deals to key players, or to squad members to avoid losing them on a free transfer.
While they claim that boss Ernesto Valverde will be rewarded with a new contract following his impressive first season in charge at the Nou Camp.
It is understood that Busquets’ renewal is imminent, with his release clause to rise to a whopping £447million.
While Alba – whose deal expires in 2021 – is believed to be keen on extending his stay with the Catalan club.
Rakitic was linked with a switch to join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, but revealed he rejected a move after a few days of reflection.
However, it has been reported that the Croatian World Cup runner-up wants to continue his career with the Copa del Rey holders.
Former Arsenal ace Vermaelen will become a free agent at the end of next campaign, but is believed to have been offered a one-year extension.
Though the Spanish news outlet claim he is unhappy at Barca, where he has failed to feature this season for the table-toppers.
