Adama Traore’s dribbling stats are so ridiculous they sound fake… but they’re not

We love players with unique styles here at Dream Team.

And they don’t come much more unique than Adama Traore.

The newly-promoted club are set to break their transfer record to sign the box-office winger with a fee of £18million reportedly agreed between the two clubs.

And why would Wolves splash out on a man often described as ‘frustrating’ and ‘infuriating’?

Because he’s one of the best dribblers in the world.

Traore’s stats are so absurd, any normal person would be right to question their legitimacy.

Last season, he completed 243 successful dribbles — 108 more than anyone else.

Off he goes again…

Wolves’ own Diogo Jota was widely regarded as one of the league’s most skilful players last term.

He completed 105 dribbles — 138 fewer than Traore.

Just take a moment to compute that, it’s barely fathomable.

Eden Hazard completed more dribbles than anyone else in the Premier League, ahead of Wilfried Zaha and Leroy Sane in second and third respectively.

Zaha and Sane combined completed 204 dribbles — 39 fewer than Traore.

Wait, there’s more…

Wait, there’s more…

Hazard plus Mohamed Salah equals 244 successful dribbles — just one more than Traore on his own.

Traore’s speed and ability to beat opponents is so exaggerated that he frequently finishes games having completed more dribbles than passes…

Most people agree than Lionel Messi is the best dribbler in the world, perhaps the best of all time.

Barcelona’s No10 completed 185 dribbles in the league last season — 58 shy of Traore.

Wolves’ soon-to-be record signing averaged 8.9 dribbles a game last season.

Neymar averaged more in Ligue 1 (10.6) but the pair were evenly matched in successful dribbles (7.1).

Not quite Traore though, is it?

Not quite Traore though, is it?

Put simply, Traore is a freak of nature.

He’s also a very useful weapon to have at a manager’s disposal.

The main criticism of him is that he lacks awareness and end product.

Too often he makes the wrong decision in the final third, having left three defenders in the dirt to create an opening.

However, at 22-years-old, there’s still time for him to add composure to his game.

His unique dribbling ability make him a match-winner at any level.

And he’s genuinely one of the most entertaining players to watch in the whole world.

Premier League defenders beware, Adama Traore is coming for you.
