Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi a target for Atletico Madrid amid interest from Borussia Dortmund and Valencia

The Blues would prefer a loan move for the Belgian, who has found the net just seven times in 32 Premier League outings

Michy Batshuayi is a target for Atletico Madrid, according to reports.

The Chelsea striker, 24, is also wanted back at Borussia Dortmund after an impressive stint on loan with the Bundesliga giants.

But L’Equipe say that Atletico have now expressed an interest with Andrea Berta, the Europa League winners’ sporting director, having tracked Batshuayi since he was at Marseille.

Chelsea are said to be against a sale of the Belgian but open to sending him out on loan for another season – with Valencia another suitor who could seal a loan with an option to buy.

Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud were ahead of Batshuayi last term under Antonio Conte.

But new boss Maurizio Sarri may have a different outlook and the Italian will have the final say on Batshuayi’s short-term future.

The Blues paid £33million to land Batshuayi from Marseille in July 2016 but he struggled to win a starting place.

He found the net seven times in 32 Premier League outings across one and a half seasons before joining Dortmund on January 31 this year.

Batshuayi looked sharp and scored seven in ten games before his season ended in mid-April when he damaged ankle ligaments.

But he proved his fitness for the World Cup and started the group-stage dead rubber against England and made two other appearances as a substitute, netting in the 5-2 win over Tunisia.
